Bonang Matheba to be honoured by #5ForChangemakerAward. Upping the ante this year, we’re proud to announce that South Africa’s multi-award-winning TV presenter, philanthropist, reality star and style icon, Bonang Matheba, will be at the event to receive the first-ever ‘5 For Changemaker Award’. This Saturday, the annual 5 For Change Black Tie Gala will glam up the Jozi skyline as it debuts in the City of Gold.

She will be presented the award in recognition of her work as the Founder of The Bonang Matheba Bursary Fund and for using her platform to advance social justice issues in South Africa and around the world.

Bonang Matheba

Bonang has firmly positioned herself as Africa’s most sought-after entertainment personality and leading social media darling while remaining a leader and role model for her community with a focus on young women and girls. Bonang founded The Bonang Matheba Bursary Fund, which aims to provide 10 young African ladies an opportunity each year to have the bright futures that all girls deserve through furthering their education with a scholarship at Boston College.

“There is nobody in South Africa that better exemplifies the exact combination of social change leadership and a celebration of glamour that 5 For Change strives to bring to life each year with our Galas than Bonang. She is our dream choice to be our first 5ForChangeMaker Award recipient and we are honoured, she will join us to accept the award and help ring in what we know will be our grandest event yet,” said 5 For Change Managing Director, Robyn Deutsch.
