Coach Kaitano Tembo wants Teboho Mokoena to feature more for Bafana Bafana. Mokoena won the man of the match award after Matsatsantsa beat Polokwane City 6-5 on penalties in the Telkom Knockout last 16 in Polokwane on Sunday.
SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo is delighted to see that Teboho Mokoena is taking his game to another level and hopes the young midfielder will feature more for Bafana Bafana.
The 21-year-old Mokoena has established himself as a regular at club level and has the potential to get ahead of some of the experienced players in the Bafana team. It’s only a matter of time before that happens.
“He is young, but he is an international player and he works very hard. He never really had a rest [after the international break] but he came back and played well in midfield. He is a very important player for us and we are happy that he is progressing. He is getting to another level,” Tembo said after the game.
“I just wish he continues working hard so that he can get more game-time for Bafana,” the former Zimbabwean international added.
Tembo was also happy with the way on-loan midfielder Phumlani Ntshangase performed.
“I was very happy with Ntshangase too. We controlled the midfield. Our passing and transition was good. Phumlani worked very hard in trying to stop their attacks and helping our defence as well, so overall I was happy.”
