Eskom: Gigaba and Lynne Brown should face criminal investigation. “It is quite sad that this was leaked because it could compromise our work. The report really is in draft form and they still had to be given time to comment,” an MP told African News Agency.

Two ministers and other parties fingered in the parliamentary inquiry into corruption at Eskom still had to be given the chance to respond to allegations in its draft report, sources said on Monday after the document was leaked. “There is quite a bit of work to do.”

Lynne Brown

On Monday morning, Business Day reported that the report recommends that embattled Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba and former public enterprises minister Lynne Brown should face criminal investigation.

MPs met behind closed doors in late October to mull the draft report, compiled after the Public Enterprises committee late last year heard weeks of explosive testimony from former Eskom staff about the entity’s relationship with the Gupta family’s business empire.

Brown in testimony denied that she took instructions from the family and shielded corrupt officials from suspension and dismissal.
